NOC Code......
2147
Hi guys,

I would like your input and opinions, especially from those who have some experience on this.

I am planning to apply under NOC 2147 (Type A) - Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers). The list of duties in the CIC page are:
  • Analyze user's requirements, and design and develop system architecture and specifications
  • Research, design, develop and integrate computer and telecommunications hardware such as microprocessors, integrated circuit boards and semiconductor lasers
  • Develop and conduct design verification simulations and prototype bench tests of components
  • Supervise, inspect and provide design support during the manufacturing, installation and implementation of computer and telecommunications hardware
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and clients
  • May lead and co-ordinate teams of engineers, technologists, technicians and drafters in the design and development of computer and telecommunications hardware.
The letter of employment I have, says job title "Telecommunications engineer" (which is in the NOC list) and these duties/responsibilities:
  • Plan, design and write technical projects for our clients, regarding the installation or integration of different telecommunications and information systems in areas such as wireless networks or data centers
  • Analyze our clients’ requirements in order to design and develop the best technological strategy for them, including architecture, specifications, providers and partners, etc.
  • Provide support and guidance to our clients before, during and after the implementation of different telecommunications projects, e.g. migration from copper to fiber, VoIP implementations, etc.
  • Conduct final checks and verifications (both in design and functionality) once an integration for a client was finished
  • Interlocution and communication between our clients and several technology providers and telecommunication services suppliers
  • Analysis and assessment of bids and RFPs (Request For Proposal)
  • Drafting of technical specifications, basic executive projects and ICT master plans
  • Management of large clients’ telecommunication services, including tasks such as incident management or bills processing and revising.
Do you think it's a good/enough match? I asked my former supervisor to write them in a way they read similar to NOC duties, is it okay or are they too similar?

Let me know your input!

Your help is greatly appreciated!
