Open work permit

Hello,
I am wondering if someone can help me understand a few things regarding my work permit.
My wife have applied for my open permit with her application for study permit. Her study permit was approved after 3 weeks. My case is still pending after I have submitted my biometric. Currently the update said, they are processing my background check for the past 9 weeks. I am temporarily working in USA and my wife is American.
Does anyone know how long does it take to obtain a work permit for a non resident in USA?

It's super hard to say right now. Processing times are all over the place due to COVID. It can take anywhere from just a few weeks to many months.
