Open Work Permit

Hi,

Am currently on closed Work Permit and working in Canada for last 3 yrs. I have applied for PR under Canadian Experience Class. My wife is currently working on Open Work Permit.

My current Work Permit is valid for 1 more year. Would like to know, whether I can apply for Open Work permit, to stay legally in this country till I receive the PR status.

Please advise.

For Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) not yet. You would need to be within 4 months or less from expiration of your current work permit. Basically you would be eligible in about 8 months if you meet other conditions.
