I am so confused. I just want a job. So far I got a letter saying that my permanent residence application is completed, accept now I have to wait to be contacted for an interview before I can actually become a permanent residence.

I am now able to apply for an open work permit.

I don't understand needing a Labor Market Opinion. I don't have an employer who will give this to me, and yet it seems I need this in order to get a job in the first place. So this doesn't make sense to me.

My Husband who is a Canadian citizen sponsored me. I don't have any special skills. I just want a work permit so I can go out and start applying for a job.(Any kind of job, even Tim Hortons!)
Also, there was a question asking if I have a letter of a job offer from an employer. Well I don't and it doesn't makes sense for me to go and apply for a job, get an interview, and then "waste" the employers time by then saying I need a letter of a job offer, and then now I have to apply for a work permit....

Is it really this complicated to get a job in Canada or can somebody explain.

Thanks in advance!

Was the sponsorship "in Canada", meaning did he send the application to Vegreville?

If the first stage approval was that letter that said something about how the process is nearly complete and how he will soon be responsible to sponsor me for 3 years etc. (Yikes, that's the one letter I have misplaced!) Well, I'm pretty sure that it was that letter he got that you just mentioned.

While filling out the work permit application online there is a question that says "Explain why you do not need a LMO" So is it acceptable to say that my husband, my sponsor received first stage approval?

Another question: Someone mentioned that I won't need to pay for a work permit if I can just wait for my permanent residence, so that when I get a SIN, I would be able to apply for a job like anybody else. Is this true? Can I wait longer and then not have to buy a work permit after having complete permanent residence?

Yes, once you received your PR no more WPs (applications and fees). You can wait out your PR approval. You just mentioned that you "want to go out and start applying for a job" :) hence the SOWP is the way to go.

That's great news then! As I just received a letter that gave me a date for my permanent residence interview in less than 2 weeks. :D

So far I have one more question: After the interview and paying the PR fee, (I'm sure the interview will go just fine) I will get a SIN and then could I work right away after the interview, or do I have to wait for a certain card or certificate in the mail or something like that?
