Hi,
I have done my MBA from University of Toronto and have an open work permit valid till July 2015.
I am currently working in the US on an H1B. I would like to get the work visa for Canada stamped and keep it as a back up. However, while applying the counsulate asks for an offer letter from the employer in Canada. I know that most of my friends could get the visa stamped without being asked about any offer letter. I have written to the embassy to consider my application without the offer letter as the work permit is open. I have already submitted the application with the following documents:
1. Open work permit
2. Letter of Graduation
3. Letter stating that I want a visa to be connected to my alumni base as I do not have an offer letter from a canadian employer
4. The work permit for the US
I wanted to know if I will be getting a visa or not? Also, what would be the ideal way to apply in such a case?
Cheers,
Varun
