Hi guys,

today I checked requirements for post-graduation work permit, one of the conditions is to be full time except final semester. I am currently in second last semester and winter 2021 would be my final semester. in winter 2021, I am only left with one course and become part time. currently, in this fall 2020 semester, I have three courses, which is met the full time status and I paid full time tuition for this semester. but unfortunately, I need to drop one of my courses and [w] sign will be appeared on my transcript and I don't know my status will be changed from full time to part time or not. so I am wondering in this case, would I face any problem in upcoming future for open work permit?

You need to maintain full time status all your terms except last. i suggest take any other course just to maintain your status, maybe an elective.

I know what you mean, my question is if I drop the course even if I paid for tuition, still am I considered part time or full time as far as CIC concerns, since the course I want to drop doesn't go away from my transcript, it remains there with [w] sign.

Ah I see, well, as long as your transcrip for that term says you were a full time student you should be fine
