I need some expert help with regard to my open work permit renewal here in Canada.
To make it short, My wife landed initially in Canada as Intl Student back in 2015, I followed her as Visitor Visa, got my Visa changed to Open work permit within Canada. My OWP validity was given till my wife student visa validity i.e july 2016 (which is understood).
Now my wife applied for PGWP awaiting approval. I have to apply for my renewal soon.
My question,
1. Can I apply for renewal before her approval comes? The way I applied for my OWP.
2. Should I apply after her approval comes, if so, what if her approval comes after or close to expiration of my OWP.
What is the right way of getting Open work permit renewal in my case.
I read on CIC website which states
" If you have an open work permit (e.g. post-graduation work permit, International Experience Canada, et cetera) your spouse must attach a copy of your work permit to their application for an open work permit, along with a:
letter from your current employer that confirms you work there in a NOC 0, A or B occupation, or a copy of your employment offer or contract, and
copy of your recent pay slips.
Your spouse’s permit will not be valid longer than yours.
PS: My wife have been working with Loblaws Pharmacy section since she landed here as a student i.e 2years, She has offer letter when she started working, which is not under NOC A or B its under C.
Can the experts here help me please, I am lost.
