There's really nothing you can do until you have your new passport in hand. Once you have your passport, you will need to apply to restore your status to visitor status.
Make sure you have stopped working.
O my God I didn’t know I am to stop working. Been working since then because of the confirmation I got when I applied for the open work permit that I could work till February. Is it until I restore my status I can continue to working or when I get another permit ? Thank you so much for responding. It means a lot.
I have the same situation. My passport expires in December 2024 but I have made a new one and got it delivered yesterday.
My OWP application is still in progress though. I have to call IRCC to inform them of the same. My PR application is under inland SCLP.

It took 42 days. Applied for renewal on 5 sept at walk-in BLS Montreal . Received it 2 days before.Calling IRCC does not work majority of times , so raised a Webform with the updated document. I am awaiting my PCC though. They just visited my house this evening IST.
Your work permit application is refused. You have to stop working NOW.
When you applied, you could be working (depending on what status you were at) until your work permit application is refused or approved. Once the decision has been made, you have to go with the decision.
You can only apply for restoration as a visitor. You cannot work until you have a valid passport, you restore back to visitor status, you apply for OWP and when you received OWP approval.
There are now many steps to go through before you can work again because you applied with invalid passport.

This is a very different situation you always had a valid passport during your application and will provide new passport information before the next one expires.
It said you could work until Feb or until a decision is made in your application. Decision was made and you were refused. You have been working illegally since the work permit extension was refused.
As always stated you needed to stop working when you got the refusal. If you get your new passport within 90 days of the refusal you can apply to restore your status to a visitor. When you get AOR from the new sponsorship application then you can apply for an OWP.
