Open work permit processing time inside canada

Hi All,

I have send application for open work permit from canada on 5th October. Can you just confirm how much time it takes to complete process. On site it shows 8 weeks.

If it says 8 weeks then that is of course an estimate and even if someone else says it took less or more for them it would not really be relevant given every application has a unique processing time. Just have to be patient and let things process through the system.

Hi, I applied for an Open Work Permit for my wife... I am on a student permit. After calling CIC they said that it will not take 8 weeks because as per the website it will be considered as a Work Permit Extension... and as per that processing time I think it is now 116 days...
But not sure of your case... good luck
Use the “work permit extension” processing time if:

• you’re applying for a post-graduate or co-op work permit
• you’re a refugee applying for your first work permit
