Open Work Permit for wife

Hello,

I got student visa and flying to canada in august.
I want to bring my wife later... I guess she can apply for open work permit and come to canada

Will there be any problems she will face? or what precautions she must take while applying

We will be living with my sister in canada...

Hi there,

This may be a risky strategy but it worked for a friend of a friend of mine. Perhaps others on the forum can give us their feedback.

Here it is: Have your wife apply for a study permit (usually easier to obtain than a SOWP when applying from abroad). Once she's in Canada she can switch to a spousal work permit. As I said, this worked for an acquaintance of mine.

They both received three year study permits and then the wife switched her SP to a WP. Her WP was granted for the same period as her husband's SP.

Best of all, she didn't even need to enroll in one course.

sh ca apply for visitors visa or SOWP which ever she wants. Just make sure u have enough funds for u of both meaning ur 1 year fee + living expenses for both of u for one year

it all depends on her profile and funds u have. i believe funds r the most important factor but I may be wrong

I did something similar. My wife applied for Student permit and I applied for OWP. We both got our visa. As one of the more experienced members suggested, profile+SOP+ matters a lot.
We came up with a very strong SOP for my wife to study and the rest fell in to place - since I own a house and have work experience in category that falls under A (NOC code)
