open work permit for spouse in alberta

Hi iam working in Alberta with TWP in NOC B, i have been got my new work permit on oct17, 2012 extended for two more years. I want to apply OWP for my wife, as i have been applied for TRV for my wife in april27, 2012 unfortunately it got rejected. At present now my TRV is also expired i`m going to apply for it, my question is is that possible to apply my wife OWP along with my extending TRV application. I have been came to this idea because i read in the CIC website saying that for spouse OWP it has to applied at the same time before entering Canada. Thats why i just want to know if it is possible to apply my wife OWP along with my extending TRV application.

If possible how can i proceed it, whether it has to applied inland or outside Canada. my wife is in India and she is holding her valid passport in india, since our TRV has been rejected for one time i want my OWP to be completed very properly so it will have more chances of success.

Please help me senior members hope u will be having best answers for me, thanking you friends in advance for your reply.

Can you share the reason for which the TRV for your wife got rejected in April 27, 2012? They it would be easier for us to help you out.

I have been mentioned here the reasons of refusal:

1. Travel history
2. family ties in Canada and in your country of residence
3. Purpose of visit
4. Your personal assets and financial status


and by that time my work permit was valid for only 5 months at the time of apply.

I think there should be minimum 6 months valid Permit to apply for TRV for family.

2. family ties in Canada and in your country of residence
In the family information form. did you mention that you have enough family members in India??
The VO should be convinced that in India ur wife has enough ties for her to come back after completion of Visa.
U can show, any property on ur wife's name, bank accounts, if she is working then a letter from her employer etc.

3. Purpose of visit
I know its a very stupid ques for a VO to ask. But still You need to prepare a cover letter through which the VO should be convinced that ur wife is only coming strictly for a specific time to be with you and after that he will come back to India. If possible you can show enclose a copy of the return air ticket of ur wife from Canada to India.

4. Your personal assets and financial status
You have to show ur T4 Tax filing documents in Canada, proof of funds, bank statements etc. There is a minimum amount (I am not sure how much)you need to show financially to bring ur wife. You can check the Embassy site.
