Hi there,
I have just completed filling out all my documents for my Permanent Residence Application, being sponsored by my common-law partner, and applying from within Canada. My current (International Experience Canada) work permit/visa expires in 5 months time, but the wait time for step 1 of the processing is average 17 months.Last december, the government announced that, for people in my specific situation, we can apply for an open work permit to bridge this wait time, by filling out "Application to Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay in Canada as a Worker".
This form isn't really designed for spousal sponsored applicants - its designed for people who are applying to be in canada primarily for work. So I don't know if I'm applying for one or more of the following:
A work permit with the same employer, An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer, restoration of status as worker or a temporary resident permit.
I currently have two jobs and may or may not quit them for other jobs in the future. I didn't think I needed an LMIA or a LMIA exemption.
Also on the payment screen, there are about 20 payment options and I have no idea which one to select.
I havn't found any information, on forums or on CIC website for people in this specific position.
Hope you can help!
