Open Work Permit Extension

Hi Experienced Canadians, My open work permit expires in a couple of weeks and my current employer has extended my current contract by a year. I am in the Express Entry pool and working on increasing my score just before the expiration of my work permit. In the case where I do not receive an ITA, before the expiration date, can i apply for a work permit extension and continue working on implied status? Then when I receive my ITA (before the work permit extension is approved or refused), can I now apply for a bridging open work permit along with my PR application using the implied status? Will the implied status be reviewed to check if i am eligible before my PR application is processed? what if it is decided that I was not eligible for the work permit extension application, would it affect my PR application?

What kind of open work permit do you hold?

Has your employer obtained an approved LMIA?

You can only apply for a BOWP after you have received ITA, have submitted your complete application, and have received AOR. It's not possible to apply before ITA.

Also do you have a high enough score for ITA? Having a job offer on an open work permit doesn’t extend your current permit.
