I am on closed work-permit, working in canada since last 1.5 years. My spouse was also having a valid open work permit. My work permit expired on 4th Oct, and hence my wife's open work permit also got expired on same date. My company applied for my WP extension before 4th Oct, and we applied for my wife's WP extension on 3rd Oct online.
Now I have received my approved work permit, but my wife's WP has been refused because when her WP application was processed, mine was in pending state.
I want to know if I re-apply for my wife's OWP extension, will she still be eligible to work? The twist is that she's working from home and her employer does not deduct any kind of taxes or contribution towards EI or CPP. Also her employer doesn't have any problem if she continues to work.
