Open Work Permit Extension Query

I came to Canada on an open work permit based on my spouse's study permit. Her course is for 2 years and her visa is valid till Nov 2017. My open work permit is valid only till Mar 2017 as my passport was expiring on Mar 2017. I currently work in a multinational company in IT and my employer seems helpless to apply for LMIA or PR recommendation or any kind of other help. I have renewed my passport but can't apply for my open work permit extension until Nov 2016 as per CIC representative (As per them, I need to apply 3 months before my visa expiry). Even if I apply for extension by end of this year, I will be getting few more months matching my wife's visa expiry and that is till Nov 2017. Now with this scenario, I have created my profile in express entry but lacking points (right now it is around 365 only) and hence no hopes for being picked up in the lottery until I stay here for another 2 yrs (so that I gain Canadian experience) with no guaranty to pick up. Having said that, I don't have that much of time left in my visa (even after extending till Nov 2017) and wondering what should be my next step(s)?
Is it true that If my wife get a job (on her co-op) and continue to work even after Nov 2017 (assuming she apply for her work permit before Nov 2017 and continue to work), based on that work permit, I can apply for further extension on my open work permit and that will give some breathing time? Please advise if any other options excluding the below options which I am aware and not interested:-
1) Renew my wife's study permit meaning after Nov 2017, enroll her for another course and get a open work permit based on that
2) Look for an employer who can apply for LMIA (as you know it's not happening)
3) Learn French to increase points
4) Other Crazy ideas which is next to impossible or involve too much of money

You haven't quite posted to the right section of the forum. This section of the forum is for existing permanent residents who have questions about maintaining their PR status in Canada or renewing their PR cards. Your questions about qualifying to apply for PR would best be posted in the Express Entry or Provincial Nomination sections of the forum. Your questions regarding extending your open work permit would be best posted in the Foreign Workers section of the forum. Having said that, I'll throw out the following:

1) You don't say what country you're from or what age you are. Depending on your age and country of origin, the Working Holiday Visa / IEC program may be an option for you to obtain another open work permit.
2) You don't say which province you are located in. Have you investigated that province's Provincial Nomination immigration program as a possible option for PR? (If not, I would recommend you do.) You may even qualify to apply for PR through the programs of other provinces - so it would be a good idea to look into these programs in general.
3) Does your wife's program officially include a co-op? Or are you asking about a PGWP? If you are asking about the PGWP she will be getting once she has completed her classes, you can extend your OWP based on her PGWP provided she has a full time job that is NOC skill level A, B or 0.

Again, would recommend you move over to the other sections of the forum that are relevant to your questions.
