So my problem is the following: I'm applying to extend my open work permit (which is tied to my girlfriend's study permit). We submitted the application and all, but we've just seen that the processing times are 82 days, and our current permits end in a month and a half. In the past the renewal of our permits has gone faster so we didn't expect this at all. The problem is that I need to leave Canada and travel back to my country just by the time when my OWP expires (and I can't change the dates as much as I would like too), so I'm not sure what would happen when I try to enter again at the airport. I know that if I stay within Canada I would have what is know as "Implied status", but what if I leave and re-enter, will I have any problems? I would really appreciate your help with this issue.
