open work permit application processing time

Hi!

I have applied for PR in October, 2009, inland and the first stage has been cleared in August, 2010.

They have asked for the police certificate which I have provided in the beginning of September, 2010.

I call the call centre and they say the system is still not updated. So, we don't know they got it or not. (Although my post office says they got it.)

So, I am kinda sick and tired of waiting... Thinking of applying for the open work permit.

How long is that going to take? Do you think it is worth applying?

Did you receive the AIP letter from Vegreville where they tell you it's ok to apply for an OWP?.
If you did, then you can apply; it only takes 20 days to receive it by mail.

20 days indeed, it's even posted on the processing times on e-cas and some members here have been receiving their permits within that time frame...
You can also apply for it on-line, but it's a bit tricky especially when scanning and attaching the documents they require. I did it on-line since I wanted to save money on those famous registered mail packages to Vegreville.
