Hey guys,
Hoping I could get some additional help. I got married to my girlfriend of 6 years last October (2015);she is an international student in Canada. In November of 2015 I applied for an Open Work Permit. I only sent in a bank draft in my name, and a joint account in with mine and my parents name. The IMM1295, family form, police certificate, diplomas and degrees and marriage certificate. However I was denied, the reasons given were:
>family ties in Canada and country of residence
>purpose of visit
>current employment situation
>personal assets and financial status
Additional document was listed as absent: Proof Spouse has sufficient income to support a family of 2 in Canada without working.
I am hoping to reapply soon and extensive reading have decided to do the following before:
>Send an access to information email to get as much info as possible
>Exclude joint bank account with parents' name and put spouse's name on my bank account and also include her bank statements.
What else can I include? Should I apply for a visitor's visa before applying for a work-permit? I recently graduated from University and have since been unable to get a job, should I wait until I get a job to apply? And how does 'purpose of visit' contribute to my visa refusal. Should I get her to write an invitation letter or something? Also does a bank draft (letter from the bank stating the amount) lessen the likelihood as opposed to the 4 months bank statements?
From reading I can see that the bare minimum is what I included and so any and all suggestions are welcomed. Please help!
