I have applied under CEC. Now I am planning to apply for Open bridge work permit. I want to know if I apply for visa with Open Bridge work permit and travel outside the country.

Also can I bring my dependents as visitor with my open bridge work permit.?

Thanks,

You can travel outside of Canada if your work permit is valid during your trip. IF your WP is expired and you are under an implied status, then you are not allowed to leave Canada until your new extended WP is issued.

I am not sure about the dependents, seniors may be able to help with this matter.

When you renter Canada you should have valid visa on your passport. With just WP you and no visa you will not be allowed to renter except if you travelled to USA for short visit.

Are you from a visa-exempt country?
If not, you need a visa.
Work permit does not allow re-entry to Canada. You can leave, but you won't be able to come back again.
But if you're from a visa exempt country, you might be able to.

If you are from a visa-exempt country then you can travel freely.

If you need a visa to enter Canada, then you will need to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (single or multiple entry). Work Permit itself is NOT valid for re-entry UNLESS you are coming back from a trip to the US (and only the US).

You can sponsor your dependents to visit Canada. They will need Visitor visas to enter the country too.
