Hello Members -

Hope you are doing well. I am 25 year old PR applicant under OOLMIA category. I was wondering if you could share your knowledge in the OOLMIA based PR application. Some details about my application -

Applied for OOLMIA in Feb 2019, got it approved in May 2019, created an express entry profile and got invited in July 2019.

Fast forward to Jan 2020, I had received an email from NDVO saying I will be needing an interview for the PR application. Its been over 5 months and I haven't heard anything from my consultant or VO. Is it normal to have this long waiting period for the interview or even to have an interview when the LMIA is approved and ready to go?

Do you suggest asking for a GCMS or raise a webform for the Interview timeline?

Thanks,
DD

- I don't know what an "OOLMIA" is.
- An interview is very unusual and indicates there is a problem / concern
- Everything is taking longer right now due to COVID and lockdowns. There is no normal.
- Your consultant should have ordered GCMS notes as soon as the interview email was received to find out the reasons behind the interview request. If your consultant did not suggest or do this, fire your consultant.
- Order your GCMS notes asap to find out why IRCC has requested an interview.
- Sure, you can send a webform asking when the interview will be held however I expect you'll get a vague answer.

Thank you for the reply @scylla.

OOLMIA stands for Owner Operator LMIA. :)
Got it. OOLMIA isn't really a common acronym.

The interview definitely means there's a concern.

Note that IRCC is no longer accepting applications under owner-operator as of April 1, 2021. You should be fine since your application was submitted earlier. However if there's any issue that requires you to reapply, that might be a problem.
