Ontario PNPs CANNOT say that they are provincially nominated in EE

A quick background summary about me: I received my Ontario PNP in Feb 2014, AOR in Apr 2014, Medical received in Jul 2014. Had to go through QA late 2014 and till now have ZERO updates from CIC.

Decided to try applying for Express Entry. After indicating that I am provincially nominated in my Express Entry profile, I was instructed to follow up with Ontario PNP office to confirm that they have nominated me, and was given a couple of profile numbers and codes to give them.

Called Ontario PNP office and to my horror they claim that Ontario is NOT participating in Express Entry thus they will not be able to validate my Ontario provincial nomination with EE. So I have to edit my EE profile and write that I do not have provincial nomination even though I do, thus losing 600 points.

This is extremely frustrating and disappointing! Should I forward a complaint to CIC?

Traxton,

Did you check with CIC call center ? It may become a misrepresentation if you say "NO" when you actually have a PNP nomination that is currently not expired.

Instead you can say "YES" and can still enter the draw. Only thing is you may have to compete with others with just base points(as no additional 600 points will be awarded as your province dont support your nomination)

Here are the contact details of CIC if you want to check with them:

Within Canada
Please note:
• We are updating our automated telephone service. Our menu options have changed so please listen carefully before making your selection.
CIC Call Centre:
1 888 242-2100 (toll-free)
Hours of operation:
Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time
If you are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing, or you have a speech impediment and use a text telephone, you can access the TTY service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. your local time by calling: 1-888-576-8502 (in Canada only).
Outside Canada
Contact a visa office at a Canadian:
• Embassy,
• High Commission or
• Consulate
Consult the local phone pages or the CIC website for addresses, phone numbers and website addresses.

I would just like to point out one thing....
for how long are your province certificates valid?
mine is valid for 6 months...
I'm not sure if it's the same timeline in other provinces.. but.. when you say you were nominated back in February 2014... maybe your certificate's not valid anymore for EE....

I'm not 100% sure of this, bit cic agent in my case asked when my PNP certificate was issued....

I just confirmed it with them, here's the response given:

Opportunities Ontario continues to process applications under our regular program streams and we are still working on details regarding our program and Express Entry.

Thanks for all your advice. I have explained my case and sent an attachment of my provincial nomination via an online CIC email form. Hopefully that will be suffice in validating my provincial nomination and thus getting the 600 points towards my EE application.

I am an ontario nominee, just created my EE profile. Seemed pretty straight forward. It did not ask me for certificate number, expiry or anything...

Check your message inbox. You should have gotten a file that instructs you to validate your PNP with your nominating province else you will not get the 600 points.
