Hello Frens,
I was nominated by OINP and got my COPR couple of months back. I have got a job offer from Ontario based company but work location at the client side is in Alberta. It is a 6 month project. My port of landing is Toronto so I will do landing there and planning to move Alberta afterwards till project completion. Please advise if there will be any issues.

Best Regards,
Viktor

Hi, can you get a letter from your employer in Ontario saying that you will have to spend 6 months in Alberta at their request to work on a project but that after that you will be returning to Ontario and settling there? Could you also speak to the Office of Settlement, Immigration and Population in Ontario, explain everything to them and get them to send you a letter or email saying that they are happy for you to follow the request of your employer and go to Alberta for 6 months first?

If you can get a letter from your employer and one from Ontario Provincial Government explaining that, and then show something like a 6 months only apartment lease in Alberta, and a print out of a email discussion with a Real Estate Agent in Ontario about looking for somewhere to live in 6 months time then I cant see that they would have much of a problem with it.

We aren't Ontario nominees, but our province told us that as long as you can truthfully explain things, and you aren't trying to lie or pull a fast one then immigration officers at landing are usually pretty understanding. At the end of the day immigration landing officers see immigrants day in, day out, they are trained to spot lies and have heard every trick in the book, when you have a genuine reason, like you do, for going to another province first then they should, in theory, be fine with it.

It wont be an issue as long as you land in Ontario. As you are currently residing in Ontario and doing landing in Ontario, it wont make any problem for you.
