Hi all!

I have a question regarding my visa status in Canada since I believe my situation might be in a gray area. I graduated from an Ontario university and got PR through Ontario Master's PNP program. During my PNP process I was working full time; additionally I also got nominated (got out of the pool) for Express Entry too. As I anticipated PNP will be processed faster at that time, I continued my PR application with PNP rather than Express Entry.

After a few months when my PR was approved, I lost my job. Then I looked for a new job for 13 months while residing in Ontario. But after not landing a new one, I have applied and started a grad school in Quebec. Long in short, I stayed in Ontario for 1.5 years through my PNP process and 13 months after obtaining PR. Then I moved to Quebec which has been a few months since.

I will be eligible to apply for a citizenship within a year, but now I started getting concerned whether moving out of Ontario would affect my application for a citizenship. During the 13 months period, I intensely applied for jobs in Ontario and got rejections without a single offer. I still occasionally apply for jobs in Ontario. Also, I would like to mention that I can still access my address in Ontario even though I am currently in Quebec.

Would you have any insight about what I shall do to not negatively affect my application for a citizenship ? Shall I fill out the 2024 tax in Quebec? Shall I move to Ottawa (ON) and continue my studies from there remotely? Any insights that you would provide will be very useful and will be much appreciated!

Thanks a lot!

There's no issue with moving. Just apply for citizenship normally. You are overthinking this.
