Ontario Graduate Certificate VS Pg diploma

Hi i am choosing a course Web development in conestoga college which is mentioned as graduate certificate(Ontario college Graduate certificate).initially I was looking for masters and i change my mind as i am changing my stream from mechanical to Computer science and also having backlogs.So, now what is the major difference between Ontario college graduate certificate and pg diploma some are saying it is same can anyone hell me with difference between both in immigration and job resume ,salary and promotions prespective.

Usually a diploma is longer like 2 or 3 years vs. most certificates which are one year.

To get study permit you need to justify costs and show educaiton advancement and opportunities in home country.
