Online visa from Paris

Hi guys,

I am Indian and I applied for Canadian Visitor's visa (TRV) online from Paris on 15th June 2016. So far, I have received 4 emails from CIC as under:

June 15th: You have a new message in your MyCIC account. (Application Submission)
June 15th: You have a new message in your MyCIC account. (Application Received Confirmation)
June 17th: Your application(XXXXXXXXX) has been updated. (I can't see any update in my online application)
June 25th: Your application(XXXXXXXXX) has been updated. (I can't see any update in my online application)

I received these "application updated" emails from CIC but I dont see any messages/updates in the CIC profile. Please suggest what these emails mean and how long does it take to receive a decision. The processing time recommended by them was 11 days and it has already been 16 days. I am to fly in about just over a month and I also need to apply for my US visa too soon after I am done with the Canadian embassy. All the more worried now.

Hi,

It's quite common to get emails like this.... but no actual updates in your MyCIC. These only mean that internal processes are being done.

The processing time on the CIC website is only a guide. Decisions can be sooner/take longer than this.

There's nothing to worry about. You'll probably get a decision pretty soon

Thank you so much Bryanna I still have no news about it. I hope to have some reply by the end of the week. The US visa interview wait period is 18 working days. So, do u think that I fill up the form and keep waiting or do I wait to have the Canadian visa first in hand? I am flying to Canada on August 24th.

Visa offices were closed because of Canada Day (July 1). Hopefully you'll get a decision this week. I suggest you wait for the Canada TRV before you apply for your US visa.
