online TRV within Canada but submitting passport at Visa office abroad for visa

Hi everyone,

I have applied for online TRV within Canada with valid study permit. Here is my timeline:

Application Submitted: April 13, 2014
Biometric Request: Aprul 14, 2014
Contact CIC to enquire about Biometric: April 14, 2014
Received an email to ignore Biometric: April 15, 2014
Received a letter at myCIC accountto ignore Biometric: May 13, 2014

On May 5, 2014, I contacted CIC to tell me the status and expedite my application because I have a flight on May 20, 2014. They replied that I have the option to submit my passport to Canadian Immigration Office Abroad but in this case I have to contact that Canadian Immigration Office abroad before to check the processing time for visa printing.

I want to know if anyone has submitted their passport abroad for visa printing?

This is sort of unrelated but I had the same thing happen with the biometric request, initially I was asked to submit biometrics then the next day I was told that the biometric requirement was cancelled for me, then when I sent an email to ask if/how I would get my money back for the biometric fee I got another letter saying that I actually need to submit biometrics. So I would double and triple check the whole biometric thing just in case.

As per CIC website, biometric information collection is not for applicants of TRV within Canada. I got a letter from CIC stating that it was technical error to send a biometric request.

Actually in one of the email reply from CIC, it is mentioned that I have option to submit my passport Canadian Immigration Office abroad but in this case I have to contact that office beforehand to check the processing time of visa printing.

I am thinking to travel without re-entry visa and submit my passport at UK office for printing of the visa. please reply if anyone has experience like that????
