Hi -- My visitor visa (first one, this was my first renewal request) is up on July 4, 2010 and I submitted an online request for renewal 30 days prior, but I'm afraid I may not make it in time. My husband is Canadian and we're preparing to submit my permanent residency application (our children have dual Canadian/American citizenship). We moved here within the year for my husband's job and were delaying my residency application until we had sold our U.S. property, since it is in my name.
I am wondering if I should wait to submit my PR paperwork until AFTER I receive my visitor visa extension, or go ahead and get it in while I am awaiting renewal?
Also, just today I received a letter from Alberta Health stating that my coverage will run out if the visa is not renewed by the expiry date. However, I have read several comments about something called "implied status" and I am not sure if that may apply to health coverage, or what exactly that means.
Any insight would be great!
