Online study permit application

I recently applied online for my study permit for a post graduate study in Canada , while applying, I filled the forms, uploaded my passport, my acceptance letter and proof of funds. However, I couldn't upload supporting documents like a letter of explanation, my birth certificates, educational certificates, police clearance , proof of employment etc as there is no prompt or link for me to upload those.

My question is, at what stage visa office request for the supporting documents.

Yes they will ask you for those documents. You can upload those files under Optional Documents -> Client Information
