Hiii,

I have some evidence of skype and email conversations between my husband and my father, problem is, these convos are written in Italian. Do we need to
seriously have all these pages translated into english? or does it not matter for the convos?

You need to translate them but it is ok to do the translation yourself.

You definitely need to have them translated. However, it is very secondary evidence. It is good to show your husband has a relationship with your family, but detailed translations of their conversations aren't necessary. I would put all the emails from your husband to your father in one file, then show the log - it will show how many emails, the dates, and the topics. And vice versa. You could translate the topics or not. Then pull out one or two emails where they discussed something important, such as your husband asking your father for your hand in marriage! Or whatever you have. And get that translated. Getting one or two emails and a few topics translated wouldn't be too expensive. Same with Skype - showing the call history should be enough to prove they have a relationship.

Officially CIC does not want translations from family members or from the applicant and sponsor. Unofficially people have gotten away with it. I would get a friend to do it, and then sign the affidavit swearing it is a true translation (as per the CIC website instructions) just to be safe.
