Online application for extension a work permit

Hi,

I have just applied my extension of work permit via online application. In the required document checklist, It is written that I have provided files of passport, job offer letter, and marriage certificate, however each of those has an additional sentence saying "required by 24 Dec 2010". Does anybody has an experience with online application and know what does "required by XX-XX-XXXX" mean? Does it mean do I mean to send thoes copies by post before the date? Or ...

I think you should send them by mail, but try to uplaod them to your online submission.

Thanks Kemeshia. However, in the confirmation of online submission it is not mentioned explicitly to where it should be sent.
I just guess it is either this:
CPC Vegreville
6212-55th Avenue
Vegreville, AB
T9C 1W5
(for general correspondence (general inquiries, documents requested by CPC Vegreville, withdrawal requests, additional information)),

or this:
CPC Vegreville
Work Permit
6212-55th Avenue – Unit 202
Vegreville, AB
T9C 1X6
(for extensions with same employer only).

Based on your past experience, which one is the correct one?

Oh my I didn't send any hardcopies for my WP extension same employer under LCP. Does it really required to send the hardcopies?

December 3, 2010 was my required date. It's already late. Do you think guys I still need to submit?

I just checked my online WP extension application in Mycicpage

Note: I didn't send any hardcopies. But I did sent/provided thru uploading the documents (e.g passport,contract,marriage certificate,trv page copy,entry page,letter of employment,IM5401)

Now by checking my application in mycicpage and it's stated there in a green text "Provided" So If we really need to send the hardcopies by the required date then my case will then be "OVERDUE" since the required date is by 03 December 2010 but it isn't.

I got also a message in MY MESSAGE mycicpage saying "You have successfully transmitted your Online Application on 13 November 2010

I'm worried right now. Please help me. Anyone who did online before? Thanks guys.


Documents Submitted by the Client

The following documents were submitted or have been requested to support your Online Application.

You can only provide new versions of previously submitted documents when requested by a Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) processing officer.

If you do not send the requested document by the deadline, the status will change to "Overdue" and you will not be able to submit the document. CIC will review your Online Application without the requested document.

After attaching your document, you must choose the "Next" button and follow the instructions to successfully transmit your document to CIC.

If you do not receive a confirmation message in your MyCIC then your document has not been transmitted.

Hi nomadron sad to say no progress yet on my WP extension online application hopefully got the result end of this month. I will keep you posted on this thread. But I did phoned the CIC online reps thrice and they have thesame answers that no need to send the hardcopies not unless you receive an email/letter asking you to do so.

Anyway, if the processing time is still 48 days, then your WP extension will be ready on Dec 31.

Since I am under LCP I dialed 1-888-242‑2100 option 1- 1 - 1 -4 - 2 - 0 and the one who first got my call wasn't sure about online application so he transfered my call to the one handling the said query.

Hopefully I will get the positive response on or before that date. But I'm not sure if the 48 days will consists business days only or not. I will keep you posted. I'm just crossing my fingers that will arrive before Jan 12, 2011 which is the expiry of my current WP.

Hey I'm waiting for my work permit extension and I also applied online. I applied on October 24. They said that they received it the next day. I am still waiting for my work permit extension confirmation letter to arrive in the mail. The timeline I believe says 60 days and that length of time from the day I sent online has passed. I am hoping that it arrives this week as my current work permit expires Dec 31.

You do not need to send the receipt by mail. The receipt number is what they trck once they process your application, so don`t worry about it. You should keep a copy for yourself though, in case you need to provide it later.
