Hi, I am submitting an application. I live in Malaysia and am planning to visit NYC next month. I have just decided to include a visit to Canada as part of my trip. I know there isn't sufficient time for my application to be processed and for me to submit my passport via mail to Singapore and get it back. I contacted the Visa Application Centre in NYC and was told that once I get my letter requesting my passport, I can bring it to the VAC in NYC and they will submit it for me.
In my letter of explanation, I said:
I am aware that there will be insufficient time for me to submit my passport locally. I have contacted the Visitor Application Centre in New York City and was assured that I can submit my passport while I am in New York City (since I will be spending some time there as shown in the travel itinerary I submitted with my purpose of travel). I will travel to visit my friend in Canada after I have been approved for my Canadian visitor visa. If the application process is slightly delayed, I will shorten my trip to Canada.
Is that good or should I remove this paragraph? I have submitted my travel itinerary showing that I am flying to NYC in 2.5 weeks so I think it is rather obvious that turnaround time is tight.
Thanks!
