My dad has citizenship in Canada, and I am going to Dal University for a year to study.
Does his citizenship mean I won't need a visa, or does it effect my visa in any positive way?
(We are from Scotland, and I am coming from the University of Glasgow)
Any knowledge would be appreciated!

Was he already a citizen when you were born? If that is the case, you might be a citizen too. In that case, you should show proof of travel to Canada and apply for your citizenship certificate asking for expedited processing, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/urgent-proof.asp

Study fees in Canada are also way lower for citizens and PR's than for people on study permits. Other than that, I don't know if your father being a citizen will affect your study permit in any way. If you are from Scotland, they probably will not consider you a risk to overstay. It probably wont matter.
