Hi all, I had two questions. So, I have one SP that has been approved in Mar 2022 for Western University. I have now applied for another SP (fresh) because I got admitted to University of Toronto. My old SP and new SP application are for the same intake - Fall 2022. The old SP was issued for 3 years (because the course was 3 years) and the fresh SP application is for 1 year only. I have explained the rationale for change in DLI in my SoP. Since I’m outside Canada, I had to follow the IRCC rules of applying afresh in case of DLI Change.
My questions are:
1. In case I travel using the old approved SP assuming that the decision on my new SP is still pending by the time the intake arrives, would that be fine? I’m okay with going for Western university course as well (which is for 3 years) if I don’t get a decision for my UofT visa in time. I want to start the studies in Fall 2022 and don’t want to defer any further. Based on my understanding, the old approved SP remains valid and once a new SP has been approved, the previous one is cancelled.
2. Any idea of timelines in such situations of DLI changes where there is an approved SP already?
Just to clarify, both my SPs are related to my previous field, work experience and education. Would request if @Naturgrl and/or @wonderbly could throw some ideas as well.
