Hi,
I sent my CEC application on Aug31, but I didn't notice my contract date is from last Sep4th to this Aug 31, which means there are 1 work day less than a full year.Is it a big problem?? I also attached my new contract, which starts Aug 31,2013, so obviously I am eligible when they receive my application. But I don't know if they are picky on the date of form even there is only one day less.
Thanks, please give me some suggestion or anyone has any similar experience?
Thanks.

Technically there is a huge possibility that your application will get rejected - whether its 1 day or 10 days - they have to draw a line somewhere.

Theoretically you are less by 3 days at least (if your letter of reference is dated 31 Aug 2013 as they will count your time based on that date). I would recommend that you withdraw your application and re-apply. And, ensure that the date on your letter is updated - any date lesser than 3 Sep 2013 would give them an excuse to reject your application.

The question is - do you want to take the risk?

The contract itself isn't a huge issue.

What will really matter is what is on the reference letter. Does your reference letter say you have worked one year or less? If less, your application will be rejected. You either meet the criteria, or you don't. VO's don't have any discretion in this area.

but Sep1 and 2 are saturday and sunday, so basically I was missing sep3, is it??
But what is the date on your letter. That is the most important date. if it is Aug 31 then thats what will be considered irrespective of whether Sep 1 and Sep 2 is a weekend or not.

Even if we consider the weekend (which in this case they will not), you still are 1 day short and that is enough for them to refuse your application. They say the requirement is minimum 1 year and you are less than 1 year.

I completely agree with other two members here. Your Reference Letter is the most important piece in determining your eligibility.

Perhaps something silly to suggest....but is it possible that your supervisor can agree to change it for a day or two?

The date is Sep4th, unfortunately. I don't know why I did this, just didn't pay attention ,otherwise I just submit one day after, no problem at all.

Yea, definately he will because I still work here. The thing is I submit at Aug 31 because I think I work for one year already, but the contract says start Sep4, so the reference I ask him to write the same date on it. I just didn't pay attention that I lack one work day. If they don't care holiday, then I miss 3 days. Made a stupid mistake.

Sorry to sound harsh but lets agree that this process is one of the most important things in your life/lifetime. It is our responsibility as applicants to cross our I's and cross our t's numerous times before even sending the application. you were obviously to eager to send the application, never rush this because you'll face the consequences!, and that could be a huge possibility!

If you have received an aor, they will not return anything. If you manage to withdraw before the initial processi g has been started, I believe you will get it back.

please confirm with cic, its better than going by people opinions or believes , it will make you more confused , because most people here just assume or contradict opinions, instead of actually having faced and dealt with thees kind of situation, people who reply are also fellow applicants under cec,

It's not an opinion nor belief.

If CIC have started processing, your application will not be returned. If they have not, it will.

Yea, you are right. I called CIC, the agent said she is not sure about my case. She said I should ask CIO office where I sent my application which sounds wired to me. Then I sent an email to CIO, I don't know when or whether I will get reply, but there is no phone I could call them directly.Frustrating...

If CIO finds that the application does not meet the work criteria, and hence a negative eligibility decision, will there even be an AOR?
