I will be travelling in a Ahmedabad-Delhi-Toronto Air Canada flight. So, i just received a mail stating the flight from Ahmedabad to Delhi is unable to operate. What will be the resolution to this? Will they arrange an alternative flight?
Coz now while i enter the PNR number for my trip on Air Canada portal, it shows only Delhi to Toronto.

Kindly guide onto it if anyone has been through this

Air Canada code shares with other airlines and doesn’t operate within India. If that airline cancels the flight then you find another flight to Delhi.

If Air Canada didn’t cancel your Delhi- Toronto then just re-book the first leg.
So will there be a possibility to link the booking with Delhi -Toronto, like the baggage allowance wont be enough in the domestic one

If not a code share then it is two separate bookings and you re-check baggage in Delhi. Baggage allowance will be different.

For that question you need to speak with the booking agent or the airline and find out.

Typically it’s whoever cancels the flight is the one that protects the passengers. Check with the airline and see who are you protected on . If it’s a codeshare , and it’s plated on 014 metal , then AC more than likely can protect you as well . The airline whose metal issued the ticket is the airline that holds the money .
It’s a different ballgame when it’s a transatlantic trip . Typically the airline that takes you over the water is the issuing airline, since they are getting the majority of the money for the trip

You sometimes can’t do that if it’s not their airline stock . The airline that cancelled could have an agreement regarding protection or might just invol reroute them, but that costs ALOT of $$$$$$
