ON but also anyone had to do a drivers ID but take a road test?

I can't really get a road test done without having a car. And my wife works all those business hours. How did anyone manage this part? For most who are new comers and don't know anyone in the country? She really doesn't have any friends cause they all mostly moved away. So I'm wondering how must of you did it?
