Old passport was still valid

Hi,

Could you guys please help me to figure this out.

I renew my passport to add my wife's name in 2011 but my older passport was still valid till 2016 at that time.
In india they made me a new passport In 2011.
Should I have to explain this in my citizenship since they need all passports from last 6 years.

Didn't they cancel your old passport when they issued your new one?

Yes they did but in the application they mention provide all passport even if they are expired or canceled from last 6 years.

If the old passport is marked as cancelled, then I think CIC will conclude that it was cancelled at the time the new one was issued. I don't think you need to say anything about it.
