Hi everyone,
Since there was all this talk about new vs. old application, I thought it might be helpful to post a link to the old application guides for reference since they're no longer linked on the CIC site.
These guides were downloaded around Dec 10, 2016 in preparation for the switch-over to the new application process, so they should be up to date. The old forms can also be downloaded from the links in the PDF (they link back to CIC). Unfortunately, the country-specific checklists don't look like they're available from the PDF anymore as they link to the new checklists but if anyone needs the old USA one, PM me.
The old application has been noted to be accepted by the CIC until January 31, 2017 as per their memo: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2016-12-15.asp
