We sent the immigration application for my spouse in September 2018. Canada Post has confirmed it was delivered. All fees were paid. As of January 2019, still no AOR.

Never expected this to take so long. I live in Canada and have tix to travel to Vietnam in February to see my spouse, who I haven’t seen since September.

Checking if this is ok. And whether I need to notify Immigration Canada.

If you are a citizen, all good and you can even live with your spouse while waiting.

If you are a PR, try to restrict your vacation to 2-3 weeks as PRs must live in Canada while waiting. No need to inform IRCC.

Hi Scott Z,
Just be aware things may happen fast once you receive your AOR. ( Probably in January )
CIC is backlogged and you will get your AOR once they are all back to work after their vacation time.
Hopefully they didn't drink too much! .... Then take more time for processing???
