Hi Everyone, I received Intent to Refuse from the OINP skilled trade stream. The reason they identified it is that the business was inactive during the time I gained my primary NOC code experience.

My company gave me an Ontario Business profile report which states that the business is active and since which date. It also mentions the Ontario Corporation Number, Status and Date of Incorporation. Is this document enough or should I provide any other document? Please advise.

Should I attach my paystubs, employment letter and T4s again as they were already submitted with the initial application?

Also, what are the chances of approval after this?
I am worried!

Your employer should address these concerns. They are mainly focusing on business rather than your job . Onus is on your employer to address this issue and provide all detailed documentation proving business was active.

I only have Business profile report from my company. Is that good enough?

No. The company has to provide the documentation not you. They need to submit their CRA filings and schedules, financial statements, leases/property ownership, business registration etc.

What stream?

This was for Skilled trade stream and not Employer job offer stream. According to my understanding, the employer doesn’t have to provide CRA filings etc

Then you need to find out from your employer if they were inactive during the term of your employment. OINP would have access to more records then you may know of so must have some proof of inactivity.

I was working at that location and was receiving salary. I don’t know why they said that Business was inactive. highly confused

Ask OINP and ask your employer. Maybe they didn’t file with CRA that tax year. OINP must know something.
