Pre-Assessed..
Hello all!

I have sponsored my spouse, and have a quick question about OHIP for PR.
Essentially, there are 3 "documents" you need.

1. Proof of Citizenship or OHIP Eligible Status
2. Proof of Residency
3. Support of Identity

My spouse has:
1 - Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM5688)
and
3 - Passport (Canadian or foreign)

We are missing 2.
What is an acceptable document that isn't too hard to get?
We did go to a bank, and sign up for an account - (joint account with myself) - so a month from now, they will be able to print off an account statement that should satisfy the requirement of:
Monthly mailed bank account statements for savings or chequing accounts (does not include receipts, bank books, letters or automated teller receipts)

Thank you and any advice is greatly appreciated!
Best of luck to everyone!

That should be fine. Just make sure it's a MAILED account statement delivered to your address by Canada Post, as they won't accept one you've printed from online.

There is no rush to sign up for OHIP, since you have to wait 3 months anyways before being eligible. So getting the residency proof anytime during the first 3 months after landing is fine.
