Lets discuss after citizenship process. Some have dual nationality and happily keep both passport and for them process ends there.
Lot of other new canadian citizen with India nationality have to spend further time and money in surrender certificate and OCI

Anyone with OCI please share experience and process flow step by step. I suppose we have to give all our canadian original documents of proof of landing and citizenship for verification. For OCI they call you multiple time to office. Is a face to face interview also required.

OCI is very simple and straight forward process. The fees is around $300. Its not dual citizenship as india does not allow dual citizenship. Its just the way to go to india anytime and spend any amount of time. You won't have voting rights and also you can't get govt position.

BLS people process the application, the whole process is around 3-5 months and I don't think so you will go through interview process.
They will stick on visa type sticker on your canadian passport and issue you a oci booklet.

Well said. Thanks you said its 3 to 5 months process meaning all this time is spend in background check and police verification back home or is it just because they are loaded with tons of request and all process is done here in indian embassy canada consulate.

i am not sure but i think they check your indian passport and verify that you were indian or belong to indian origin.
I submitted application for my son on in October 1st week and submitted my wife's original indian passport and her landing document as well as my son's canadian passport and now they are in process of stickering the passport. I saw the status online. I think documents go to india for verification.

This process is for OCI only not for renunciation. Renunciation is a different process.
Steps for OCI:
initially they will take photocopies of all documents listed on BLS website and your indian passport in original and original landing document.
its your option to submit canadian passport or not during that time. if you submit then they will hand it over to you after the complete process. If you don't submit your canadian passport, then the following happens:

They will process the application in 1-3 months and then they will return your indian passport and landing paper via mail(if you opted for courier service) and they will call you to bring your canadian passport and it will take 2 weeks for stickering.
then they will call you for pickup of your passport.

Sometimes they don't return your indian passport and landing document till the whole process is complete and if you have opted in for courier service, you will receive canadian passport, indian passport and landing document altogether by mail.

OCI takes minimum three months to process. As verification steps are undertaken at New Delhi/India.

It is a kind of four stage process.
1) First you submit your application with all supporting documents like PP, Surrender Certificate etc..etc...and an online tracking number is issued to you.
2) Once they start processing and verifications completed, they will return the documents.
3) Keep checking your online status and when you see some thing like " sticker issued..." go back and submit the PP again.
4) They will issue the OCI booklet and paste the sticker on your Canadian PP, you can collect it back in 15 days.

Word of wisdom: Don't go for OCI at this time. Just go for PIO which is much cheaper, faster and easy. As Government of India/union cabinet has taken up the bill for merging the OCI and PIO and going to approve soon. So there will be no difference from Jan 2015.

try whatever number that starts with CAN. I never waited for anything. I just used that CAN number to check the status. When did you submit the application?
