is it worth taking OCI for child who is 6months old ? because we have to renew passport every 5 years.. also is it true that fee for OCI is 425$ and every 5years we just need to renew OCI by paying 25$ renew fee until child is 20 years old?
You need to have the certificate attested local authorities in Bangalore first and then with the Ministry of External AffairsHi, can someone please help me by answering this question?
I applied for an OCI for my 6-month-old baby, but it got rejected because they are not accepting our marriage certificate. I’m from Bangalore, India. As Muslims, we obtained our marriage certificate through the Waqf Board in Bangalore. This certificate has been accepted everywhere else as valid proof of marriage—even for my Canadian spousal visa and permanent residency application.
However, when I applied for an OCI for my child, it was rejected on the grounds that the Waqf Board marriage certificate is not considered a valid marriage certificate. Has anyone successfully applied for an OCI using a Waqf Board marriage certificate?
Why do we need that? You need to have the certificate attested local authorities in Bangalore first and then with the Ministry of External Affairs
Did you go through this process and received OCI successfully? You need to have the certificate attested local authorities in Bangalore first and then with the Ministry of External Affairs
Ohh I'm sorry too, I thought abbas.pasha is asking me.Sorry for the confusion, i meant to ask abbas.pasha if he went through this processed and procured the OCI successfully.
Yes but in my case I got married in India, whereas around that time I used to live in Dubai.Did you go through this process and received OCI successfully?
Waqf might be what you called, but for the Indian mission in a foreign country to recognize the documents issued in India an attestation is required by MEAWhy do we need that?
Waqf works as government body in banaglore and that certificate is attested, it's not like qazis certificate.
Not sure if you read my previous msg..You and your neighbor got married in India and had a Nikah Nama, right? Given that, didn't you apply for a marriage certificate in India itself?
