Hi
My wife is a Permanent resident of Canada and wants to work as a medical doctor in Saskatchewan, Canada. She graduated from Azerbaijan Medical University (https://search.wdoms.org/home/SchoolDetail/F0000281) as Anesthesiologist. Worked more than 13 years in this speciality. She currently works as an occupational health physician. Could you please share information, may she work in Canada as Anesthesiologist or occupational health physician. What should we do to get her speciality qualification in Canada?

What do you recommend to her to select as profession, to start to work without license or examination?

As it stands likely impossible to ever get licensed in Canada as an anesthesiologist without getting licensed in another country, like the US, first. She can try to secure a residency in internal medicine after she passes her licensing exams. There are very limited residency spots available for IMGs. Has she not done any research about getting licensed to work in Canada as an IMG? That should have been done before getting PR in Canada. Also I am rather puzzled as to how she can be both an anesthesiologist and occupational health specialists. These are very different specialities.

Thanks for comment. I applied PR and she also got PR because of me. She worked anesthesiologist for government, and as occupational health to British Petrolium in Azerbaijan. It is possible to get license for the both occupation in Azerbaijan. May she work medical clinics? On what position?

She potentially could find an administration job like a medical secretary but most are well versed in the Canadian medical system or have taken a college course.
