Occupation on Schedule 3 Form

On Schedule 3, Shall Occupation in that form list the same as your job title? In another word,do I need to regard occupation same as job title in that form?

My own understanding is that occupation and job title are 2 different thing. For example, I can have my occupation as interactive media developer but my official job title can be rich media developer who performs all the duties interactive media developer occupation does.

Any advice?

Thanks.

I would go with occupation rather than the specific job title that you hold.

In practice these are sometimes the same and sometimes not. Your job title might be "Chief Software Developer - Enterprise Systems Department", whereas your occupation then might be "Computer Programmer".

In recent NOC list, professions listed are such that you hardly can afford to have an occupation with totally irrelevant job title. For example, if I am an Engineer, and put my job title as hotel manager,...it won't work. Point is that there has to be some relevance between occupation and job title. Hope it helps
