Hi,

I've scoured the forum and has not find an answer to this.

Visa office instruction for PNP PR application indicates that it is strongly encouraged that a police certificate is included with the application however I've also read numerous times that RCMP will not send results back to individual but directly to consulates. Which one is right?

I submitted finger prints to RCMP about three weeks ago and I did not indicate any receiving third party agent (I only stated intention that this to be used for immigration purposes) ... I have not heard back from them. Did I do anything wrong here? or the processing just takes long time? [Clarify: I took my finger print @ Commissionaires and its suppose to take only 72 hours at most]

Thanks!
Ethels

You do not need to submit police clearance for Canada unless you are required to do so. Your background in Canada is deemed to be clear when you apply from within the country.

By "included in application", CIC means police clearance for other countries in which you have lived more than 6 mths since turning 18. In the guide they clearly states do not submit clearance for Canada because it is not needed for Canadian immigration.

Thank you. I am still at disbelief why this hasn't struck me.

I thought that only FSW and CEC class are not required to submit Canadian police clearance whereas Provincial Nominee is required.

This really helps a lot! Can't express my thanks enough from bringing this up.
