Hi All,

I have my Oath today, What all documents do I need to take for the Oath Ceremony.

I'm planning to take
1. Notice of Oath that came in mail.
2. Original Landing Paperr
3. Original Valid PR Card
4. All Passports (Expired and Current)
5. Original Driver's Licence
6. Valid OHIP Card

Do i have to take all my supporting documents for the Oath too, like T4s, Credit Card Statements, CBSA Report, Job Letter, Car Lease and other documents to prove my residency period that I declared.

Also, Once the oath is done, Do I get the Canadian Citizenship Certificate right away. Can I use that document to go ahead and apply for my passport right away ?

Thanks

For your Oath you just need to bring your Canadian immigration documents: COPR, PR card..
No need to bring supporting documents.

At the ceremony you will be given your citizenship documents which will allow to apply for a passport. You won't be able to apply for it the same day as your ceremony though since your status will have to be updated by CIC, and that may take a couple of days. You will be advised on all these next steps at the ceremony.

Hi

But the letter - the notice of oath says that you need to bring all documents supporting your file. Why would it say so then ?

I have attended three ceremonies in the last 10 months. The only documents requested to be brought forward were COPR, and PR card (which will be kept by CIC). You could bring the documents you initially submitted with your application - for peace of mind - but there is no need to bring anything new.
