Can anyone please help me how long is the Oath ceremony?
How many hours should I plan to be there?

From entering the building till exit - 2 hours max

PR Card collection 15-20 minutes
Entering oath room and settling down 10-15 mts
Pre Oath Speech - 10 mts
Citizenship judge arrival and speech 15 mts
distribution of certificates 15 to 20 mts

you can add 15-20 mts as contingency plan :)

Good luck

Thank you for the info. My child will be accompanying me to the ceremony and I will be having baby sitter accompanying me. For how long a child has to be there with someone else and not me during the ceremony. Is it the time that I take oath?

I think mine was 2.5 - 3 hours entry to exit.

They tell you that you can be outside the oath room to mind your children except when the actual Oath and National anthem is done.. which is usually about 10 min... They usually have someone who tell you when you should be inside.. Though you have to be extra careful to ensure that you are in the room when oath is taken.

did you have any children with you?
No, I was alone, but others had children. If they make noise, they ask them to leave until they quiet down.

I am about to submit my application, I was wondering how many time CIC will send/ask me any documents over the regular mail throughout the whole citizenship application.

I am asking because I might change the address in near future. I know i can update the address using web message.

But still, I would like to know how many mailing correspondences will occur via regular mail and how many times using CIC account/ECAS

Thank you
