Hello, I need some urgent advice. Here's my situation:
- I sent my PR card renewal form in August
- IRCC mailed a new card to me on August 31
- The card never arrived
- I sent in my Solemn Declaration on October 20
- Having heard nothing, I called IRCC on November 15
- The agent confirmed receipt of the solemn declaration, and also noticed that my new card was returned to IRCC (for some reason it was undelivered, even though the address is 100% correct). The agent also said the PR card would be sent again "in the next few days"
- My new card has not arrived yet, and I have no clue when it will arrive. Could be tomorrow, could be never.
In the meantime, after a dormant citizenship application with no updates since January, I suddenly got a notice today to appear for the Oath ceremony on November 28.
I am in possession of my old PR card, which expired in late October 2023.
Anyone know what the correct way forward is? Should I contact IRCC? Or just attend the oath ceremony with my expired card?
