Hi,
I had received a call from the NYC Canadian consulate on 5th August 2009 and they said that I am approved and will be receiving the passport request letter in 2 weeks. It is almost a month and I haven't received anything. Attempts to email or fax also has not yielded anything. Is there any way I can get in touch with them or do I have to settle with eternal wait. I am also considering asking for CAIPS notes later this week. Should I go ahead with this? (I hope I get the CAIPS notes in 30 days).

BTW I have already breached the 5 month mark since my file was transferred to the local consulate.

Wow, where are you at. I don't understnad why they would need to call you. Sounds funny.....all I know is that based on the couple of times I emailed them they got back to me in three days. Just keep your emails very simple and also note your file #. My application was approved there in like 4-5 weeks....just waiting for my passport.

Good luck.

Well the reason why they called me was to say that PCC from DE is missing when he was seeing the documents that I had proactively sent(06/23) before the consulate could send me a letter of missing PCC (07/15). When I had told him that I had mailed the documents "again" on 07/28 thats when he realized that he has all the documents that he wanted. After that we went on say "Ok you are approved and you should get the passport request in two weeks". BTW even I was in state of shock when I received a call from the consulate. I reside in Albany, NY and it takes a maximum of 3 days for a mail from NYC to reach Albany and I am sure that someone in the consulate is sitting on it. I have just bad experiences from the NYC consulate and just wished it had stayed in Buffalo.
